Samantha recently celebrated thirty years of service in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde working within mental health occupational therapy services.
She has worked in a number of areas including acute psychiatry, rehabilitation, and community mental health and qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in 2005 and worked as part of a psychology department for two years, alongside a professional leadership role.
Samantha is passionate about working collaboratively with people with lived experience of mental health and their carers as well as third sector partners and has led the way in Greater Glasgow in the development of forums which maximise partnership working.
Another area of interest is arts and health. She set up Art in the Gart and worked alongside the artist Donald Urquhart and many other artists and organisations to improve Gartnavel Royal Hospital. Samantha chairs the Design in the Dale Steering Group in Leverndale Hospital and is working with Paths for All and Glasgow City Council to improve awareness of local walks. She is also the project lead for onsite landscape re-design, working with the Green Exercise Partnership to deliver on this. This project has been funded through successful applications for monies out with NHSGGC.
Samantha enjoys working alongside people and believes together we can do more than we can alone.
