Role and Responsibilities:
- Apply your knowledge of best practice, codes of practice and current regulations in the social care sector and ensure the provision of a high quality and socially inclusive service
- Manage team in delivery of support as agreed in support plans for areas such as tenancy support, health needs, personal development, emotional issues and inclusion that positively impacts the people you support’s health and wellbeing
- Manage and co-produce support plans and contribute to support reviews
- Take on the role of shift leader in the absence of the Service Manager
- Assist in managing a team of Support Workers by reviewing the delivery of support and ensure staff are following the correct policy and procedures.
- Rota management
- Dealing with referrals to the service and delegating to the team
- Liaise with local authority on a regular basis
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Previous experience in a care setting
- Commitment to the practices of continuous improvement
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Ability (or willingness to learn) to create and adjust rotas as required
- Qualified to the level required by the SSSC as a supervisor in housing support services or a willingness to work towards and to successfully complete qualification within the SSSC specified timeframe.
Desired Skills and Attributes:
- Experience in line managing staff in a care setting
- Previous experience in a homelessness support service
- Previous experience of liaising with external stakeholders
About the Service:
We offer a range of support across Midlothian through our Midlothian Temporary accommodation partnership. We provide a range of service models including, Housing First and Tenancy Support with support being provided in people’s homes.
We have various temporary accommodations across Midlothian that provide support for individuals, families’ and young people. We encourage engagement to support people to develop life skills and decision-making capabilities to become active and engaged in their communities.
Additional Notes:
Shift work, weekend work and sleepovers may be a requirement of this role, sleepovers attract an additional payment. Flexible working arrangements are also available. These can be discussed at your interview.
