I was supported to go on a long drive to Aberdeen where I had two pieces of art work on display at the Dementia Resource Centre.
We arrived in Aberdeen at 1:30pm with the Dementia Resource Centre booked for 3pm. The hotel was very close so after a few welcome cups of tea we walked, and within 5 minutes were there. We were met by the manager who gave us a brochure and explained the exhibition and artists to us.
I told Tom that someone has been copying my paintings and here they were! Tom told me they were mine. I had forgotten, but then I remembered why we were here. I had a big smile on my face when I knew they were mine and stood and looked at them for a while.
There were pictures of all shapes and sizes. Black and white, and very colourful. The big colourful paintings were my favourite. My support worker used the brochure to tell me what some of the paintings were and who painted them. In the very last room, there were two paintings that I recognised. I told Tom that someone has been copying my paintings and here they were!
Tom told me they were mine. I had forgotten, but then I remembered why we were here. I had a big smile on my face when I knew they were mine and stood and looked at them for a while. The Manager joined us and told me that a lot of people had admired them and were also inspired by my art work. People would use that room to sit in and paint and draw.
After the event was finished I received my art work and was sent a card from the person who organised the exhibition.
