The Busy Life of Lewis

Lewis

My name is Lewis, I am 21 years of age and have just moved into my first flat. I get support every day from Horizons to help me live here on my own and look after my flat. I was both excited and nervous to get my flat but feel really good about it now.

I made my support worker laugh as they asked me what good things I've enjoyed since moving in and I said getting fed. I have been supported to cook fajitas, a chilli, a curry and bolognese.

I am a very busy person as I am at college, and I volunteer and work.

I have been volunteering with FareShare and have travelled to lots of places to deliver food packages for people who need it. This means I sometimes get up at 3am in the morning and head off in a van to get to those who need it the most. I just found out I have helped deliver over 6.23 million meals. I am very proud of this. I am looking forward to getting involved in some new activities with my support as I don’t just want to be stuck in my life – although I really enjoy playing my Xbox.
